Company Admin Scott Lee here! Throughout the course of working on Barton Police, a lot of changes have happened with cast and crew. People have gotten in fights, guys and girls have gotten together, broken up, people have laughed, cried, gotten fired from their jobs, gotten new jobs, and so many other things. Essentially, two lives revolve in and out of the show: the lives of the characters which stay fundamentally the same and follow the events of our actual lives which are under a constant evolution. And things really have been crazy!

But that’s not really a good excuse. In any case, we want everyone to know that we are still hard at work on the final episode of Barton Police and also: getting the 8th episode up with the codec problem that has plagued us since its weak release solved. There has been some issue that we have yet to figure out with YouTube. While we were trying to get the show done, summer classes have snuck up on me while Stephen Wolfe, the director and musician Chris Worrell have to deal with the goal of finishing Midnight Abyss by their film festival deadline.

As you may or may not be able to tell - I am not 100% thrilled with how far Barton Police release dates have had to be pushed back over and over again. Still, Barton Police is far from dead and we are planning on continuing the series in a variety of ways. Writer/Director Stephen Wolfe still intends to do a feature length movie remake which will switch things up (we all believe: for the better). Of course, nothing is officially confirmed at the moment and everything that we have ever done always requires more money.

We hope to have the Barton Police DVD released sometime before the end of August and we are hoping to also have a brand new Barton Police website up and running by the end of September. I’m Not Gonna Lie and its fully original new music is currently at a toss up… there is debate over who will work on and/or finish the project because when it comes to me: my time has expired with all of my other impending bills to pay and deadlines to meet elsewhere. I will have to spend my time over the course of the next year and a half finishing up my BS in Psychology from the University of Houston.

Still, you will be able to look forward to Stephen Wolfe’s new film, Midnight Abyss, and its completion quite soon along with its entry into what I imagine will be more than one film festival in the country. We are going to be stepping up promotion where we can in the coming months, too. At this point, if we can just get the following done by the end of 2010 I think we’ll be pretty happy with ourselves:

We’re going to launch the official website of Justin Herman, JHermtheGerm.com, which will feature a very thorough biography, along with skits, videos, and other sorts of updates from Justin himself.

I already mentioned above: Barton Police on DVD in August and the newly revamped BartonPolice.com in September.

I’m Not Gonna Lie we HOPE to still complete but there are complications now that projects and deadlines have collided with one another in scheduling and the cost/benefit ratio is questionable.

We’re giving away almost 100 DVD’s of our old 2006 release: Barton Ct. Collections Volume 1 along with an album from local rap artist: A.L.

We’ll distribute approximately 1500 more cards and get about 750 more friends on MySpace along with passing the 500 mark on the Barton Police Facebook page.

The Barton Police “movie cut” will be completed: a condensed 2 hour version of Barton Police designed for entry into various film festivals.

The script for “Barton Police: The Movie” will be in development throughout the remainder of the year by Stephen Wolfe.

In addition to school and keeping busy with my various other projects I am also working on a new book, which we’ve mentioned here on BartonCT.com before, and I hope to have that completed over the course of the next year with the final version of its drafts being proposed to various publishers sometime around the end of 2011. It is also possible you will see me pop up somewhere within the world of music but nothing for sure just yet.

And now I’m out of time, I have to go study for my summer class and hopefully get some other important things done tonight! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has been watching our show, we owe any benefit we’ve received in terms of networking, money, support, or any other encouragement to our viewers. Hope I’ve filled you guys in sufficiently and take it easy!

Around 50 new views show up on Barton Police YouTube videos everyday with little to no promotional work being done but for the Barton Police post production team, this just is not acceptable! Chris Worrell, Scott Lee, and Stephen Wolfe race furiously toward finishing the entire series. While Episode 6 was released only a short while ago when the Episode 6 Trailer came out in March, Episode 7 is about to be released May 18th, 2010, only a little over a week since Episode 6. Episode 8 will have a similar schedule, the team reports.

For Episode 9, the efforts will be churned toward the episode itself along with completing the DVD as a cohesive product. The DVD cover art is now under works and will likely be completed soon. Chris Worrell and Scott Lee, the series’ two musical composers continue to create approximately 4 to 8 songs per editing day, an incredible rate given the rapid pace at which the episodes are released. The quality, many would agree, is comparable to that of previous episodes and in some cases - even surpasses and surprises.

“We’re working 12 hour days,” Scott Lee says. “We literally wake up at 8:30 in the morning a lot of these days. Stephen brings donuts and kolaches and we work until around a three o’clock lunch where we usually end up ordering a pizza or picking up fast food. It’s not the healthiest diet in the world but it keeps the creative juices flowing.”

“We basically just looked at the calendar and realized we weren’t going to make our May 17th date. But we knew we had to give as much effort as possible, and that meant buckling down to get everything done,” Stephen Wolfe has told others in regard to working on the series in recent time.

“It really feels good to get this much done,” Chris Worrell looked up from his headphones and laptop speakers at one point. “These past few weeks we really have been doing a lot.”

The team faces a constant challenge of predicting when the final scenes will be filmed, who can attend voice over audio sessions when and for what scenes, and what to cut out versus leave in while they race against the clock which has already punished their credibility. The Barton Ct. Membership service lies on a temporary delay while content is gathered and services are brought online. Scott Lee is faced with the problem of having no other help for managing a variety of tasks: managing the websites, producing music, doing post production audio noise clean up on dialogue, filming his remaining scenes, doing news updates, posting new content on the Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, and much more. In a very real sense to the project, Scott has to be a one man army.

With the Barton Police DVD so close to completion, the team has been having to contemplate what to do next. Scott Lee will be working on a new book and completing a college degree. Chris Worrell, who recently graduated with a degree in Interactive Media & Design, will be chasing after new work opportunities. Stephen Wolfe is working on his new film with working title: Midnight Abyss. The other members of the cast and crew are also working on their own respective goals. Justin Herman will soon have his own official website designed by Barton Ct. Productions Inc. and continues to create short skits and videos for his YouTube channel, CCJVideos. Xavier Flores is working and pursuing a degree in biology, for example, and Mitchell Ganey is attending college.

One of Justin Herman’s latest short skits:

After almost two years in the making Barton Police is finally coming to a stage that resembles some form of completion. Meanwhile, Director Stephen Wolfe has begun work on a new film with working title: Midnight Abyss and plans to enter it into one particular horror film festival. While Midnight Abyss is not a Barton Ct. project, there is discussion continuously taking place over the course of the production that could very well lead to the film getting “picked up” by Barton Ct. Stephen Wolfe’s new film is being co-directed by his girlfriend Tracy Collins and new producer Chris Kuhlman. Will Sheffield, who plays a role on the final episode of Barton Police, will make an appearance along with a couple other newcomers. All in all, the majority of the team associated with Midnight Abyss is a brand new team - an almost entirely new cast and crew.

At the very least, viewers can look forward to a very pristine visual experience for Midnight Abyss; the film is shot on a Canon XL AH1, one of the high grade “prosumer” high definition cameras from Canon, courtesy of producer Chris Kuhlman, who is primarily a photographer in his prior work. Tracy Collins, co-directing, also has a strong interest in photography. Combining the directing/producing team for this film, you can expect it to have, at the very least, a remarkable visual splendor.

Justin Herman has appeared in production photos of the film’s early stages but not as the zany, cynical police officer A.J. Jenkins that viewers know him as from Barton Police, or the lip synching victim of being cheated on in the Barton Ct. tribute video for Breathe Carolina. Instead, he appears to be a production assistant sporting a Barton Ct. Productions t-shirt. Justin Herman has kept himself busy with acting, however, and has even begun a new YouTube channel entitled CCJ Videos. To assist in launching further growth in his career, Barton Ct. Productions will soon be designing a personal website for Justin Herman which will feature his entire filmography along with his own smaller projects.

Company Administrator Scott Lee who also serves as producer for Barton Police has been busy with projects outside of film, mostly wrapping up yet another semester toward his bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Houston. His personal student and Barton Ct. assistant, Cody “Hitman” Gist, has also been under more intensive coaching sessions lately, working on all different aspects of personal development. Scott maintains a busy schedule - he recently completed motorcycle training, is preparing for final exams, will be taking a trip to California to go dirt biking in the summer, is working on the Barton Police DVD, and hopes to have his new book’s first draft completely written by the end of the year. The book he is working on, currently with the title: Survive, Replicate, Empower: The Science of Humanity’s Improvement is a major undertaking within itself, a book that should span over 300 pages packed full of scientific research and tools for better human development. Scott has also written articles for his previously abandoned personal development blog Scott Free Thinking lately, such as Why Christian Apologetics Died Years Ago and How I Lost an Inch Off My Waist From Eating Alone.

The new release dates for the latest Barton Ct. products such as the Membership April 29th, 2010 and the Barton Police DVD on May 17th are quickly approaching. While the entire Barton Police team is working on wrapping up the project, it also seems apparent that for the first time in a long while, some new things are under way by those associated with Barton Ct. Productions Inc. Even Xavier Flores, who plays Detective Alex Ramirez on Barton Police, is in talks with Barton Ct. to do his new online show.

With the release of Episode 5 - Internal Affairs, Barton Ct. Productions Inc. has managed to finally release its newest and arguably the most polished, hilarious episode yet of Barton Police: The Online Comedy Series. After the longest period of time for a subsequent episode release since the series’ premiere, Episode 5 aims to please fans with the longest running time yet of around 48 minutes. As with the previous four episodes that have already been released, episode 5 is available for free viewing on BartonPolice.com and YouTube. The goal now - to release Episode 6 within another 3 to 6 weeks after the release of the fifth episode.

The fifth episode accomplishes impressive technical feats never done before by the team - one special effects shot which shows a computer screen imposed onto a monitor in post production which appears almost 100% realistic - the vast majority of Barton Police viewers will likely not even notice the effect, which was the intended goal. Episode 5 also marks the first episode that musical composition was conducted by the duo of Scott Lee and Chris Worrell, working on music seriously together in the same room for the first time since high school. Their old high school band, named Erebus, disbanded long ago, but their dreams of creating a new album have been at least partially fulfilled by creating several new songs for Barton Police - several albums worth. Most viewers will likely agree that the two musical styles of Chris and Scott mesh together quite seamlessly.

Work has begun on the Barton Police DVD that is meant for release later this month or early April 2010 by creating an Episode 1-5 DVD that will be given to cast/crew exclusively. The design features of the DVD itself, under works by Scott Lee, build a basic framework for which the final release will be constructed. By creating the Episode 1-5 DVD, about half of the work for the late March release will already have been done. The main part of the work consists in creating brand new interactive motion menus for the DVD as well as finishing an elaborately more complex menu system than has yet been done by Barton Ct.

Fans for the show have been pouring in, with views on the first episode climbing by at least 20 views and as much as 50 views per day. Within weeks, hundreds of new fans have been added to the Barton Police MySpace with a target market of viewers locally watching in League City. Producer of Barton Police and Company Administrator of Barton Ct. Productions Scott Lee has thought of this as a sort of “micromarketing” method in which most promotional efforts are focused toward League City and the 77019 area code in Houston surrounding the River Oaks Theater, where a future episode 9 screening is being considered. The episode 9 screening would be a major premiere for the Barton Police team and would likely take place at the end of summer 2009 in pairing with commercials playing on local Houston cable television.

But TV ads and big screen premieres are not all the team is having talks about - Scott Lee is also toying with the idea of developing a Barton Police PC game which would be designed as action/adventure type game following the characters AJ Jenkins and/or Bill O’Hara. The idea hatched when, in the midst of troubleshooting technical problems while attempting to play multiplayer games, Scott Lee and Chris Worrell began talking about the exciting possibilities of designing different kinds of games. At some point, Scott hatched the idea of creating a Barton Police game.

“Imagine what it would be like to create that sort of an interactive experience. If you played as Preston Leebo, your primary starting weapon might be an iddy biddy pocket knife while AJ Jenkins would be an actual pistol,” Scott Lee played with possibilities as he talked to Worrell, long time friend and musical composer for the show. Greenlighting the game as an official project brings up a huge number of questions, however, and no solid or definite decisions have yet been made. The creation of the game would demand a considerable viewership base for the show itself before launching a game of any kind and that also means selling a huge number of DVD’s before designing a game.

It also raises the question of how the game would be designed and who would be on the design team. Where would the programmers come from? To what degree could the existing personnel working with Barton handle creating 3D models and animation? What other projects being done by Barton would have to be considered? Would the current cast agree to do voice acting for the game? The list goes on…

All in all, the only thing regarding a game that has definitely been decided is that Barton Ct. Productions would love to create one if only the viewer demand for the show were high enough. There is hope, however, as the primary advantage to creating an entire intellectual property (IP) universe such as Barton Police means that the more content you create for it the more of a chance you have to immerse new fans and viewers (or in the game’s case: players).

Imagine, if you will, seven people packed into 700 square feet of space. One works in the kitchen to make endless amounts of food, another designs DVD cover art on a laptop, another is composing music using Propellerhead Reason 4, another is doing audio clean up using Adobe Audition 3, another takes pictures of the rest working, another edits the 5th episode of Barton Police using Adobe Premiere Pro, and the entire time Director Stephen Wolfe is walking back and forth, seeing progress on multiple different fronts. This was the picture that you could create this past Friday, February 12th, inside what had become an improvised post production studio office.

While it might sound like a great idea, the entire team did not really get to enjoy the fruits of their efforts so much as they had to enjoy the burden of solving all of their technical problems that had resulted from unknown causes. Audio settings on the computer were going out for editing music, a motherboard fails and they have to go to the electronics store to buy a new one, software crashes over and over again, system restarts solve bizarre glitches that continuously pop up throughout the day.

“It was just insane, I’ve never seen so many people gathered together for the purposes of Barton in one room before in a context outside of actual filming and production,” Scott Lee remarks on the experience.

All in all, it quickly became apparent as things were coming close to being pieced together in finality why it has taken so long for the next episodes to be released to the most eager of Barton Police fans; episode 5 currently rests at over an hour in total running time in its rough cut form and episode 6 has had more than an entire album worth of music created for it. Producer Scott Lee performed his usual task of going through the entire show and began to cut out entire sections of polished video which will later be included both on the Barton Police DVD and offered exclusively to Barton Ct. Members.

Justin Herman and Chester Smith were scheduled to film but filming had to be canceled due to Justin Herman being ill. Justin Herman was able to attend for much of the day and attempted, without success, to capture some making-of footage he had filmed on his consumer-grade HD camera. In addition to acting, J Herm has also been working on perfecting new skills, such as editing in post production.

“I didn’t even get to finish my nap,” Chester complains of Justin having to go home and cancel filming. Not only was Chester the only person who was really without constant tasks to perform during the day but he was also constantly chewed out by Scott Lee for tripping over the same cable multiple times.

Though the majority of the day consisted of numerous technical problems and very little real progress due to lots of troubleshooting some actual elements were added into the episodes. Episode 5 had several different pieces of music added into some of its previously silent scenes, excess scenes began to be cut out, audio clean up on dialogue was done, and new music was created for episode 6.

This next Friday, February 19th, the team will be sitting down to focus all of its energies on Episode 5 to meet their newly formed release date of February 26th, 2010, only two weeks away. Episode 6 is also planned for release fairly shortly afterward with as little as 3 weeks after Episode 5 release or as much as 8 weeks after. The cast members have been aching for faster episode releases even as new fans only slowly roll in to catch the beginnings of the series at Episode 1. A brand new, lengthy promotional trailer is also in the works to boost viewership across the board for all episodes.

“One of the biggest problems we face right now, in addition to just completing the project, is that fans are not able to really catch a good glimpse ahead of what there is to look forward to in the show. So we’re wanting to kind of do an around-the-road approach to create a promotional video that will show off the entire series all at once - even content that we haven’t polished and released yet so that fans will say ‘oh I like that! I’d better watch until I get to see that part because that part looks interesting!’” Scott Lee explains Barton Ct. Productions’ marketing approach to getting viewers for the show.

Projections for the future of the show’s viewership currently extend into an estimated 30,000 new viewers for 2010, even though over 70,000 of the residents living in Houston, Texas will probably have heard of the show at some point in time during the year. The promotion plan is currently exclusively internet-based and low cost, using primarily social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook. Barton Ct. Productions Inc. plans to also release higher quality formats of the show later in 2010 and censored versions, the best content of which will be available to those who join the Barton Ct. Membership service. Eventually, Barton Ct. will also consider advertising the show other places, possibly even through local and national television commercials.

Stay tuned for the release of Episode 5 - Internal Affairs and Episode 6!

Company Administrator Scott Lee, Photo by Roberto Ganoza

Pushing past the original release date on the Barton Police DVD , the Barton gang recently sat down at one of Scott Lee’s signature “Denny’s Midnight Raid” events and ended up having a lengthy discussion involving the future of the online comedy series. With personal issues going on with the cast and crew, it has been a challenge for both the staff and administrative team behind the show to continue pressing on. To begin with, Barton Police has been an incredibly ambitious project considering its budget to scope ratio - making an ongoing timeline for both production and post production exceedingly difficult.

Barton Ct. still plans to continue the show and to release the show’s first DVD with nine episodes before the end of March 2010 and hopes to have all filming completed by the end of February. While it has been a difficult challenge to put together and release the first four episodes, the company has begun to open itself up to increased help in recent time. Chris Worrell, who has worked with Scott Lee for years, has taken on the challenge of producing new music for the show while Scott takes on a massive workload of special effects shots for the show’s final scenes.

Chris Worrell originally worked with Scott Lee as a musician in their high school band starting in their freshman year. Chris Worrell was also involved in the production of the company’s very first online comedy series meant to establish a greater fanbase known as Kite Show. The show appeared on the local municipal access channel LCTV16, and the show’s creators also produced a film known as Daydreams which was released as a student production in the Clear Creek Independent School District under the title “One of Those Days.” Chris Worrell has worked as a special effects artist, cinematographer, and musical composer for both series now and appears to be producing work that allows the show to continue to be sustained. Chris Worrell has produced orchestral, techno, electronic, and hard rock compositions for the company and also released a digital album under his techno musical identity Kreese for a limited time in 2009.

In addition, new film enthusiast Will Sheffield has been welcomed onto the Barton Police team and will be helping them to get extra editing done for the duration of post production. While the crew for the very first episode of the series consisted primarily of Scott Lee and director Stephen Wolfe putting together all different aspects of the show, it became apparent as time went on and a heavy work load caught up to the duo that they would need to call upon some extra assistance. Will Sheffield could also possibly replace much of Scott’s creative contributions as he is trained to help the creative team at Barton Ct. and Scott Lee pursues a doctoral degree in psychology from the University of Houston, in line with much of his previous personal development related endeavors.

Barton Police Star Justin Herman with Xavier Flores in background, Photo by Roberto Ganoza

Essentially, the entire team of Barton Police is pushing the envelope with what some people thought was possible, and they are working on borrowed time. Mitchell Ganey, who plays character Bill O’Hara, recently moved nine hours away from Houston to attend college and Xavier Flores has announced he has new plans following mid-February. There is no money in the already minuscule budget for the show to transport cast members for weekend film shoots, so the team is not just nearing a “hoped for” release date but is instead working against time in a battle to prevent themselves from seeing the show’s death on a very real deadline.

“What’s interesting is that much of the content for the second half of the nine episodes we plan to complete is already finished. It is literally only a small selection of scenes that holds us back from total completion and only a matter of time before the few scenes we have left leave the editing room and are available for public viewing,” Producer Scott Lee explains in regards to working toward the release date. He has also stated that, if needs be, he will take money out of his own pocket to see that the show is complete should it need to be delayed any further. “We’re talking about a piece of intellectual property that can be built upon in a very powerful way. If we complete this show’s start then we have a chance to build a massive following on it.”

Some bloggers and stray YouTube viewers have already noticed the web series’ potential, commenting that it is “surprising so few people know about this.” While the team knows that it would be great for its viewers to do the work for them and spread the word, they also know that much of the show’s total success hinges on not just completion but total devotion of resources to directly reaching out to audiences. With little to no money for advertising, the show has relied on word of mouth and viewers embedding the show’s YouTube player onto their various websites, MySpace profiles, Facebook pages, and blogs. Should Barton Ct. be able to complete the comedy series and its planned nine episodes, it will have a full powered product that it can spread to thousands of viewers before 2010’s end.

“We’re talking about going from several hundred views right now to having dozens of thousands of views by 2010’s end. We’re also talking about different ways to increase distribution and spread the word. A censored version of the show as well as a shorter feature length movie cut that can be viewed in under two hours is already in the works to further help the series be more acceptable to the masses.”-Scott Lee

With the recent release of episode 4 and a very closely following episode 5 trailer, Barton Ct. Productions Inc. is gearing up for a release of the Barton Police Season One DVD and an unprecedented promotional campaign beginning (hopefully) in March 2010. The original schedule for the online comedy series has already been delayed by three months given that they had hoped to release the season one DVD before this Christmas.

Now, on Christmas Eve, the internet may finally be taking notice. Indie bloggers, internet enthusiasts and entertainment hobbyists are beginning to talk about the show. Having already appeared in places like the TAS Variety Show and as of today: the blog “Almost Famous” it seems that no matter how small the audience of under 1000 viewers might be, people are definitely taking a passionate notice.

Above is the episode 5 trailer which shows a number of interesting details, including the unveiling of what could be the final downfall for Barton Police Department. Because of the events at the end of episode 4, Internal Affairs has come onto the scene to launch a full investigation into just how ridiculous Barton Police Department is and how it is being managed by Commissioner Preston Leebo. AJ Jenkins also begins trying to convince Rookie Bob Riley that his wife is indeed cheating on him and not only that - AJ claims he’s the one Bob’s wife is having an affair with.

The growth on the show has been consistently stable, bringing in a slowly increasing viewership base since the show’s release. Writer/Director Stephen Wolfe and Producer Scott Lee have been aching to see new reactions to the later episodes but most of the new viewers are still coming onto the scene to catch episode 1. Stephen Wolfe had always envisioned over-delivering on a product and many could argue he has achieved it. Each episode of Barton Police is anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes in length and for the finale 8th and 9th episodes, Stephen and Scott have said to expect each episode to be an hour or more in total length.

Most importantly, viewers for Barton Police are expected to increase most after the show’s completion, at which point the entire cast and crew of the show, plus new members who have been stepping onto the scene with Barton Ct. Productions Inc. - will devote their full efforts to promoting the show and gaining new viewers. Who knows? Maybe Barton Ct. will even shell out some major cash for TV or roadside billboard ads. Anything is possible.

Stay tuned for episode 5, which is planned for release before the end of 2009.

Scott Lee and Justin Herman sat down in the middle of the night after hours of studying and working on college homework to get down to the nitty gritty of their own comedy show Barton Police and company, Barton Ct. Productions Inc. Following a recent conversation that Scott had with Stephen Wolfe, writer/director of Barton Police and co-founder of Barton Ct. Productions about possibly leaving the company in the distant future, Scott pitched some ideas on how to better improve the existing work flow of Barton Police and beyond.

“It’s actually a really good idea,” Justin Herman began explaining to other cast members at a small lunch at the local Wings ‘N’ More. “Scott can focus on the business end while Stephen can focus on the creative end.”

“Essentially we came up with a plan to build and expand the company to work in designated teams, where each person is more specialized toward a specific job. It was also critical, we figured out, to come up with some kind of a training system for new people entering the company and to focus a lot more on product promotion and advertising,” Scott Lee explains.

Currently, the work is divided up into two different piles, mostly taken care of by Stephen Wolfe and Scott Lee. Stephen Wolfe has done everything from concept art to scriptwriting to directing to editing to photography to some aspects of marketing while Scott has served as producer, actor, company administrator, marketer, audio production specialist, music composer, and web administrator.

So why not teams? Scott has for a long time intended on taking the company a different direction in terms of business and gearing up the entire process to be akin to earning a profit while Stephen Wolfe has been attempting furiously to come up with a product that is wholly unique and likely to win critical or audience acclaim. With the recent influx of new members being interested in helping in company projects, these volunteers can be given training to assist with the designated teams that are likely to be formed in the near future.

How might these work teams be structured?

Finance and Accounting - Company investments outside of its own products and services including checking, savings, money markets, stocks, properties, and so on will be supervised by some sort of small group that can be the mediator in company decisions. Can we afford new cameras? Should we greenlight a specific project? For the first time in Barton Ct.’s history the people associated with the company are beginning to see a growing need for organizing a specific team dedicated to this purpose.

Marketing - Who has done public relations? Justin Herman remarked, “Scott got us on the municipal access channel, and then the TAS Variety internet show, but he was only able to do that when he was out promoting and networking.” Cody Gist, a newer trainee to Barton Ct. who began by being a production assistant has since begun to be trained in aspects of interpersonal communications and better promotion methods using marketing materials.

“Training a good marketing and promotion team shouldn’t be that hard to do something simple that we know is effective,” Scott explains. “All we have to do is give a street team the right instructions and materials and they can go to work, bringing in an objectively measurable result.”

Production and Development - Stephen Wolfe will no doubt head the core of the creative team for a long time to come, developing new projects and enabling the company to continue traveling in a specific creative direction for its video medium. Over the years, Stephen has continually developed a number of high quality intellectual properties including his Doomsday, Howloween, and Barton Police universes. Each one of these vast worlds can be expanded upon, altered, improved, and worked within. Viewership for each potential franchise or property can be built upon collectively over time without having to ’start all over’ on the marketing process.

Company Administration and Legalities - While Barton Ct. Productions Inc. was incorporated in 2006, the company itself has been in existence since 1999. Since that year, the same core members have always been associated with the company’s projects. This has created a very distinct and specific company culture that, needless to say, does not likely feel a whole lot like a “company.” Still, even with a very friendly, open communication sort of work group that Barton Ct. is, it still requires the same legal protections and financially oriented direction that all other legal entities do.

Barton Ct. still has to arrange contracts, make proposals, strike deals, manage costs, scale productions properly, and receive legal counsel the same way any other company would. In the entertainment industry, it is especially important to know the limits of intellectual property law as well as how to best benefit artists and actors with good financial management between two parties.

In the future, it will also be necessary to manage Barton Ct. staffing and front line employees by figuring out how to best manage the new influx of labor and knowledge that the company will have to accommodate.

“I think that’s a great idea,” Stephen repeats the mantra that began to permeate much of the Barton gang at the Wings ‘N’ More. “And that would allow Scott to sort of do what he really feels he’s better suited for to have more of an impact and would allow us to do more of what we’re suited for.”

“Everybody wins,” Justin Herman affirms. In addition to the company reorganization strategy pitched by the group, new ideas began to spring up for further improving the current project of Barton Ct., Barton Police, and what is to become of the feature length documentary, I’m Not Gonna Lie. While the current plans for the long term future of Barton Police cannot yet be revealed, I’m Not Gonna Lie will still receive a brand new cut and content to become a more distinctive product. Future documentaries may be produced in the long term that will allow I’m Not Gonna Lie to be more fully marketable as well as projects that may be similar in tone but be more geared toward specific niche audiences and topics.

Plans exist for the future of Barton Police that could put the show onto a whole new level, speaking in terms of both financial and critical success, though these plans will have to wait to be publicly unveiled. In the mean time, Barton Ct. Productions Inc. appears to be increasingly dedicated to obtaining its own measurable results and improving its methods toward becoming an entirely sustainable entertainment entity.

Scott Lee here, producer of Barton Police! Before I get another person asking when episode 4 is coming out, let me stop those who are asking by saying: when it’s out it’s out. We are working on it, and have been for weeks now. Part of the problem is that I happen to be one of the only people on our team capable of finishing the critical special effects shot necessary for the episode to be completed and my schedule is a bit crazy. Not only that, there are also certain times when I’ve been free but maybe Stephen isn’t, like in the early hours of the morning or during early afternoon hours of the day. Whatever the case, it’s been tough to find time during the rest of our lives to continue working on the series, but things are coming along nicely. In the mean time, we’re going to need your help getting as many people as you possibly can watching the first three episodes at BartonPolice.com!

In the mean time, I think it’s a good idea to take a look at what’s happened so far. We’ve released the first three episodes, we’re still working toward a DVD release, we accomplished the task of having our Halloween Horror Nights coverage (which has gotten a considerable amount of views in a very short time), and we’re already making plans for next year as to what it is we are going to be pursuing. As soon as we get the time, money, and resources we are going to set out on a much heavier and larger scale promotion plan for Barton Police.

Keep following the voice updates and thanks for staying tuned to Barton Ct. Productions!! -Scott
